Diaphragm Seals and Isolators
Find the optimal Ashcroft® diaphragm seals and isolation rings for your application by using the filtering options provided.
Ashcroft® diaphragm seals and isolation rings protect valuable instruments from potential damage caused by corrosive media or clogging from sludge or slurries, especially in wastewater processing. Diaphragm seals are offered in a variety of configurations with a wide selection of compatible wetted materials, such as 316 stainless steel, Monel and Tantalum. Isolation rings are available in different diameters for integration into piping systems. They provide a contiguous, flexible inner wall that deflects to equally pressurize the fill fluid into the pressure measuring device.

Frequently Asked Questions for Diaphragm Seals
When is a diaphragm seal used?
A diaphragm seal is commonly used in a variety of process applications where corrosives, slurries or viscous fluids may be encountered. The diaphragm seal affords protection to the instrument where: The process fluid being measured may clog the pressure element.
When do you use a diaphragm seal vs. an isolation ring?
Use a diaphragm seal when instrument materials are not compatible with the process media. Isolation rings are used in high-sludge environments like wastewater for free-flowing water.
What Ashcroft® instruments are not available with diaphragm seals?
The following is a listing of Ashcroft instruments that are not available with diaphragm seals:
- Stainless Steel Case Gauges: All 1008A & 1008S gauges
- Industrial Gauges: 1490 & 1495
- Differential Gauges: 5509, 1130, 1131, 1132, 1133, 1134
- Commercial Gauges: All commercial gauges

- Transducers: CXLdp, DXLdp, RXLdp, XLdp, IXLdp, GC30, GC52,* K8,*G2,* T2,* GC55*
What are the flange rating conversions to PSI ratings?
Can I reuse a diaphragm seal if the instrument goes bad and needs replacing? What do I have to do to do this?
Ashcroft does not recommend reusing a diaphragm seal. It needs to be inspected to make sure it hasn’t been damaged and needs to be fitted properly.
Can a diaphragm seal be used on a switch?
Yes, most Ashcroft pressure and differential pressures switches may be used in conjunction with a diaphragm seal. Learn more here.
